Sorry to hear about the bad experience. I too noticed on the first day that they passed quite late in the evening, but to be fair, on my drive in to Pincourt I noticed that none of the local companies had passed in the area.

That being said, it has been the same driver who does our street for 2 or 3 years, has always been courteous to us - waits for us to move cars, and also clears a little extra in the roundabout to make it safer for the neighbours.

Your comment does highlight how much an impact snow removal can have - I think at the end of the season I will post a poll asking to rate their contractor's performance. I know that several of our neighbours have switched to Syljack from other competitors.

So far, NOT so good. In the past two days we have experienced the first major winter storm of 2012 season in the Montreal area (Ile-Perrot). At least 15cm of snow fell on Thursday, January 12th and another 10cm(+/-) on Friday the 13th. I arrived home on Thursday at 10:00PM after a 14 hour shift at work to find that Syljack had not cleared our driveway once. That's right... they had not come to remove the snow from our driveway once. The snow pile from the city plow at the end of our driveway was about 2 feet high and the 15+cm of snow that fell was still on the driveway, untouched. To make matters worse, we have a fairly steep "up" driveway, which is why we decided to get snow removal in the first place. To get through the snow pile at the end of the driveway and to be able to get up the driveway itself, I had to back into our neighbour's driveway across the street and "gun it". Luckily, I was able to make it up and into our garage, but it was not easy.

I tried calling Syljack, however, there was a message stating that no one was available to take the call and to leave a message, which I did, but no one returned my call.

The plow finally came to remove the snow at 11:30PM Thursday night. I feel this is unacceptable. I understand that they must have been busy as it was the first major storm of the year, but not to come at all during the day and to only show up at 11:30PM is unacceptable.

On Friday, I was hoping that Syljack would redeem themselves after another day of snow falling... no such luck. As I sit here and type this, it is 10:00PM on Friday night and Syljack has not come to remove the snow from our driveway yet. That's right... they did not come at all again today. Once again, I had to back into my neighbour's driveway, "gun it" and hope for the best. Getting up our driveway was much harder today as there had been some freezing rain mixed with the snow.

Long story short, my experience with Syljack thus far has not been good, and I would NOT recommend this snow removal company to anyone.
